Ancient Indians possessed a highly advanced knowledge of Aeronautics, which is comparable to modern day technology, sometimes even far advanced!!
VYMANIKA SHASTRA
VYMANIKA SHASTRA, a 4th century work discovered in a temple in 1875, describes 31 essential parts of the Vimana. It has also gives 16 types of metals needed to build a Vimana out which only 3 are known to us. It mentions technologies like solar power and anti gravity. In this sastra, Maharishi Bhardwaja refers to about seventy authorities and 10 experts of air travel of ancient times, which means this technology is older than 4th century BC!!!
In YANTRA SARVASA, sage MAHARISHI BHARDWAJA describes "Vimana's" as being classified into 3 classes:
1. Those travel from place to place
2. Those travel from country to country
3. Those travel from planet to planet
They are also classified into four categories based on their appearance as follows:
1. Rukma - conical in shape
2. Sundara - rocket like
3. Tripura - three storied
4. Sakuna - bird like (similar to modern day planes)
There were 113 subdivisions of these four types with minor changes.
The construction details of the planes were given in SAMARANGA SUTRADHARA. It has 230 stanzas devoted to the principles of building Vimana's and their use in war and peace.
AMARANGANA SUTRADHARA has explanations about the drive, controls and fuel for the Vimana. Ten sections deal with themes such as pilot training, flight paths, indiviudal parts of the machine, clothing for pilots and passengers, and the food recommended for long flights. The metals used were classified under three categories
1. Somala
2. Soundaalika
3. Mourthwika
if they are mixed in right proportions, 16 metals will be obtained with heat absorbing capabilities and they were Ushnambhara, Ushnapaa, Raajamlatrit etc.
The weapon technology described resemble weapon technologies of modern times. Ancient Indians used weapons like Soposamhara (flame belching missile), Prasvapna (which caused sleep) and four kinds of Agni Astras that traveled in sheets of flame and produced thunder. Marika seems to be similar to Laser technology.
According to RAHASYAGNUODHIKAAREE, "The pilot is one who knows the secrets". there were 32 secrets a pilot must know. Only such a person shall be entrusted with a Vimana. Those secrets are given in RAHASHYA LAHARI. Some of them are Goodha, Drishya, Vimukha, Roopaakarshana, Stabdhak, Chaapla, Parashabda Graahaka.
According to SHOWNAKA, the regions of the sky are
1. Rekhaapthaha
2. Mandala
3. Kakshaya
4. Shakti
5. Kendra
In these 5 atmospheric regions, there were 5,19,800 air ways traversed by the Vimana's of Seven Lokas:
1. Bhooloka
2. Bhuvarloka
3. Suvarloka
4. Maholoka
5. Janoloka
6. tapoloka
7. Satyaloka
It also discusses food to be eaten, clothing to wear, metals for Vimana's, purification of metals, mirror and lenses installed in the Vimana's, mechanical contrivances or yantras.
Experiments:
1. A glass-like element which was developed by a scholar of Benaras Hindu University based on the technology of ancient Sanskrit text has proved to be a material which cant be detected by RADAR.
2. In 1835, an Indian Sanskrit scholar Shivkar Bapuji Talpade developed a Vimana based on Vedic technology Marutsakthi and demostrated in Chowpathy beach of Bombay when it flew to about 1500 feet before it crashed!!
Historical evidences also prove the ancient India's aeronautical intelligence.
1.When Alexander the Great invaded India, 2000 years ago, his scribes chronicled an attack by 'flying fiery shields' that panicked their horses.
2. Hitler sent his men to Ancient India to gather information about this technology
3. King Ashoka, after turning into a Buddhist, a Secret Soceity of 'Nine Unknown Men. They were grea Indian scientist of hat time who were supposed to catalogue the sciences. He kept their work secret fearing that it might be used for destructive purposes. Each one of them is believe to have written a book. The first one, 'The Secrets of Gravitation' deals with gravity control!!
They seemed to have used solar power and anti gravity for operating the Vimana's!!
