Recycled Pizza box Canvas

I would like to share a canvas made with a recycled pizza box.
To begin with, I took the tissue paper which we usually find in new shoes. I crumpled the tissue paper and covered the pizza box withe tissue paper. Then I colored with acrylic paint.

I made some flowers with paper and pumpkin seeds and I drew some flowers too.

Here is the completed work.

Pizza box Recycling - Craft with Aluminum Foil & woolen yarn

Recycled Pizza box with woolen yarn and Aluminum foil.

I started with a pizza box.

I drew the design of my choice and drew it with markers. Then I glued the woolen yarn over the design.

I covered the pizza box with Aluminum foil and smoothed it out with a felt cloth, so that the design popped out.

Finally, I colored with permanent markers.

Sea Themed Layout

Inspired by this mood board from Scrap Around the World, I have created this sea themed layout.

Here, I have used a pizza box as a canvas.

I started with covering the entire pizza box with scraps of newspapers. Then, I added two coats of home made gesso.

Then I added some acrylic paints with a mesh  grocery bag. Once the board was ready, I added the beautiful quote, from the mood board.

I was inspired by the star fish and the sea horse from the mood board.  I used the card boards from the cereal box for making these sea creatures.I loved the sea coral too. So I tried to make few corals and again those corals were made with cereal box cardboard. I added texture to these sea creatures with glue, sugar and water colors.

I  applied the glue on the cardboard and sprinkled sugar on the glue. Once the glue - sugar mix dried completely,  I applied the watercolor on the glue - sugar mixture. Here are  a few close - up pictures.

Here is the completed work.

Sunshine

A simple layout to enjoy the sunshine.

The base I have used here for making this canvas is a pizza box.

I covered the entire pizza box with home made gesso.

Allowed it to dry overnight.

I added some birds which were cutout from an old newspaper. Painted the birds with watercolor.

I drew the sun with markers.

Then I added some ribbon to decorate the canvas and a flower made from a plastic milk bag.

 Homemade Gesso:

Mix 3 parts of water with 2 parts of white glue. I've used Elmer's school glue.

Add talcum powder ( I have used Jhonsons baby powder) to the glue-water mix until you get the desired consistency.

Thanks,  Joan of Art
