Wall Decor

Wall decor made with recycled cardboard.
The picture is hand drawn.

I tried the shaving foam and food color marbling for the background. But, I'm not satisfied with the results. I have to try again.

The leaves are made of old gift covers. For the next layer I made some hearts out of tissue roll.
Finally added the tassels. The tassels were made from old fabric scraps.

Simple Rangoli Ideas with recycled materials / materials in hand (1)

Today is the first day of  Margazhi, the month of vibrant colors. Since, I don't have enough space for drawing kolam / rangoli, I create my rangolis with the materials which I have. Here is such a try, with the tissue paper rolls.

This can be used as wall hanging / wall decor too.

A Simple Scene

I have been thinking of some way to recycle the cookie tins that were lying around. An idea of painting some scenery came into my mind. Instead of just painting, i thought of adding some recycled materials to create a scene.

I painted the sky and a landscape. Then I added  cloud, sun, small birds, plant, a small hut, lawn and butterflies.

The small piece of cloud was cutout of corn husk.

The sun, birds, leaves in the plant were from a waste cardboard  (cereal box).

A dried stick was used as a stem of the plant.

The flower was cutout from a waste plastic milk jug.

The small butterfly is made from a waste tissue roll.

The hut was made with dried pine leaves.

I used some fresh pine leaves for the lawn around the hut.

Here is the outcome,
