Handmade Mini Book

This is a handmade mini book inspired by Suman Pandit's Debris Journal

I like the kids television series Tinga Tinga tales. So, I thought of using few characters from the series for the book cover. I chose the Elephant for the front cover and the Tortoise for the back cover.

I covered the brown cardboard with white sheets. Then, I chose few of my li'l one's favorite rhymes, wrote them and drew the pictures too. The page edges were wrapped using aluminum foil.

Altered book decor

Here is one more altered book.  I have altered an old event catalog from a community center.
I started with folding the pages of the book. Then I colored them. Finally, I added some paper flowers, fabric flowers, pistachio shells for decorating.

For the cover, I attached  the cardboard from the cereal box and covered it. Then again, I used the cardboard strips to decorate the cover. Made a small flower out of crepe paper and  the leaves, again from the waste cardboard.

Done ! Here is the outcome.

Altered book

Here is my try to alter a book.
I started by creating a small window in the book. Then I painted the pages with watercolors.

I thought of making a page about bees. So, I used the cardboard from cereal boxes to make honey bee, honey comb and flowers. I used some old papers too to make flowers.

I had tried some simple doodling too.

Finally, I added the quote " Hope is the only Bee that makes honey without flowers ".
